Aimed at customers and partners of WoodWing, the WoodWing Xperience took place at the Barbizon Palace Hotel in Amsterdam on May 24 and 25. The high-profile keynotes delivered important knowledge on new media trends, designed to enable publishers to develop and implement successful strategies to keep up with the publishing revolution triggered by tablet and mobile devices. The vast number of lectures gave the attendees information about exciting new innovations of WoodWing´s cross-media publishing solutions. During the event, WoodWing also announced version 7.4 of its publishing system Enterprise.

Zaandam, The Netherlands (June 1, 2011) – The list of keynote speakers at the WoodWing Xperience was a virtual who’s who of the media industry: Michiel Buitelaar, COO Digital Media at Sanoma Uitgevers; editorial design legend Dr. Mario Garcia; Josh Quittner, Director of Digital Editorial Development at Time Inc.; and more. Targeted at customers and partners of WoodWing, the high-profile event attracted 350 participants from 33 countries – from Japan to the United States and Brazil, from South Africa to the Nordics.

The first day kicked off with keynotes by Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing, and Erik Schut, President of WoodWing. Buitelaar then explained in his keynote the importance of mobile for publishers. On Wednesday, Garcia outlined in 17 lessons what he had learned about developing new apps for tablets over the last 12 months. Quittner then shared information about Time Inc.’s experiences publishing to the iPad.

More information about tablet-publishing strategies and projects came from Marica Finnsiö from Aftonbladet, Sweden's largest daily newspaper; Joe Zeff, former Graphics Director of Time Magazine and owner of Joe Zeff Design; and Jochem Wijnands and Michel Elings of Dutch TRVL Magazine.

In addition to the keynotes and speeches delivering valuable insights of cross-media strategies of leading media companies, the event offered five parallel tracks, covering the use of WoodWing products, real-life business cases, amazing third-party technologies, in-depth technical sessions and workshops. The attendees got valuable information about new and upcoming features and innovations that will enable them to get the most out of their WoodWing system.

"We are excited about the success of the event and the fact that many attendees have traveled around the world to be able to participate,” Janssen said. "All the lectures have attracted great interest, and in the conversations in the futuristic lounge, the visitors shared experiences with peers and interacted with the many WoodWing developers who were there.”

The WoodWing Xperience was sponsored by the WoodWing technology partners dataplan, enfocus, Tripolis Solutions, and Tansa Systems as well as Axaio, MADS, VIDIGO, The Saints, and Samsung.
